Islam: Interpretations and Understanding Friends :)
Saturday, 17 December 2011 @ 12:30

Dr Faisal Rehman:
Mighty Allah even asked Ibrahim to sacrifice his son.
And without asking a single question Ibrahim agreed to sacrifice him.
It's our turn today.
It's our duty to let our blood flow for the cause of Islam.
This is what Allah demands.
This is what Islam demands.

Rizvan:
No, no, no, no, no, you are lying.

Dr Faisal Rehman:
Why brother? Don't you believe that the Lord had asked for Ismail's sacrifice?

Rizvan:
No, no, my Ammi has told me the story.
Saint Ibrahim did not doubt the compassion of the Lord.
The story is an example of his immense strong faith and belief.
Saint Ibrahim did not waiver from the path of Righteousness.
He was sure Allah would never allow the blood of his progeny to be shed.
And he was right.
The mighty Allah saved Ismail's life.
My Ammi also said, "Rizvan, this story shows that the path of Allah is that of love not of hatred and war.".
You are lying.
Dr Faisal Rehman is a liar.

Dr Faisal Rehman:
Look, the meaning of the story is very clear

Another Muslim dude:
Our brother (Rizvan) here speaks the truth.
Allah's path is that of compassion
That's why his loved ones are called 'blessed by The Compassionate!'

This is part of a script from the movie My Name is Khan. The main point of me highlighting it is to show like how different people have interpreted the Quran and some of these interpretations are incorrect which lead to people doing things which are not like right in the light of Islam. Islam is a peaceful religion, and there are reasons why we have certain practices such as the 5 daily prayers and the hijab and everything. But sometimes it's seen negatively by people who aren't Muslims like for example the hijab issue. Like in certain countries people see it as a form of oppression but Muslims see it as a form of religious identity and protection. You know that kind of thing?

Yup, but I'm really thankful and blessed to have friends, and yup this includes those who aren't Muslim, who really respect the religion :) Like for example I can't thank them enough for being understanding if like I can't make it for certain things etc. I've got friends who even patiently wait for me to finish praying before we go off for classes together and stuff like that. And I really don't know how to thank you guys enough, but yes here's a shoutout to all of you I'm really thankful and blessed. :)
