Don't Know How to Put It

Okay like I was just curious so I went over to ask my Ustaz about the whole halal food issue which has been bugging me. And like yeah I learnt stuff from him and I feel like I have to tell people about it because I mean, when you learn something, you spread it so other people can learn it too.
But the thing is when you spread it, you also won't know how people react to it and stuff like that. Some people will disagree with you, some just ignore, and others like agree and stuff. I'm okay with that I guess, and I'll try my best not to sound as though I'm imposing anything on anyone. Because whatever actions you do you're accountable for it and we all share knowledge so that we can improve ourselves, yes? So yup that's what I'm gonna do here I guess and yeah I think your feedback also would be good.
If it's better you can go ask me stuff at my formspring as a form of commenting. If you want that is. The URL is www.formspring.me/tiyashraf
So I asked my Ustaz today about like eating stuff which isn't exactly haram although the place isn't certified halal. And like technically my form teacher (who isn't Muslim) brought it up in class also, that technically even though these stuff aren't haram, they're from a non-halal kitchen so they cannot exactly be eaten. And my ustaz agreed. Like he said that it's better to avoid it if you can. Unless you can confirm that the place although it's not certified does not have any non-halal food stuff, because it also boils down to how the animal is slaughtered, and to the utensils used etc.
What I learnt was basically that whatever sources that distribute food, even though that particular food does not contain any non-halal thing, it isn't shouldn't be eaten if it can be avoided as long as that source distributes other food types that contain non-halal meat, rum etc. Because that's a safer option. But let's say if you're obligated to attend some dinner because you're a VIP, and you need to eat, and the food there is non-halal, vegetarian meals served would be the last resort. That's my opinion.
But different people think differently and it's up to you to decide for yourself. Just felt like I had to say something about this.
